SALSA DANCE is the most danced dance in the world. Whether you are on a vacation cruise or in a wedding dance party or maybe a corporate team building event or a fitness class at the fitness center - there is a high probability that you will hear some Salsa music and have the opportunity of dancing Salsa. Salsa was invented in the island of Puerto Rico and since then has spread to all countries all over the world because of its popularity. The salsa music is fast and is excellent for burning calories and breaking a big sweat on the dance floor. It is an excellent form of exercise while having fun with friends and enjoying the music and the club environment. At Amazing Dance Studio, we also arrange dance parties at our private studio where you will be able to dance Salsa with other students and be able to relax as you will be dancing with one of us, a part of the Amazing Dance Studio family.
The Salsa music is very rich with many members in a music band. There are often over ten band members producing Salsa music and out of the ten band members, four could be on the different types of drums. So, with salsa music you hear a very rich sound produced by different instruments and produces an environment and aura perfect for Latin Dancing. The Salsa music is a little bit fast and hence the learning of Salsa becomes a little bit more difficult than some of the other slower dances like Bachata and Country Western Two Step. Nevertheless, Salsa is the king of Latin dancing, and it is a must for any dance student. BACHATA DANCE is an increasingly popular dance. Bachata was invented in the Dominican Republic and became very popular suddenly in the late 1990s because of the amazing, talented and famous Bachata music group called Monchy and Alexandra/Nathalia. There are many other groups also playing excellent Bachata music like Prince Royce, Aventura. The famous song “Senorita” by Camilla Cabello and Sean Mendez can also be danced to Bachata dance rhythm. Bachata dance is simpler than Salsa in some ways because the beat is slower than Salsa. Bachata is a good dance to learn before Salsa because it is easier than Salsa Dance. Many Latin clubs play Bachata almost 30 to 40% of the time, so Bachata dancing is now very important. As a Latin dancer you must know and understand the Bachata music, rhythm and the dancing. Bachata is also commonly danced at wedding parties, vacation cruises and any annual events and Christmas parties. At Amazing Dance Studio, we will teach you Bachata dancing with many simple, yet ornamental moves and you can dance it comfortably and conveniently with anybody.
MERENGUE DANCE is also very popular all over the world. It is relatively simple compared to Salsa and Bachata and involves a lot more styling and body movement rather than complex moves which are common in Salsa Dance, Bachata Dance, Two Step Dance and Polka Dance. A lot of ornamental and intermediate / advanced moves from Salsa and Bachata can also be nicely improvised in Meringue dance. Merengue is popular all over the Houston area and popular in Puerto Rico and Mexico. At Amazing Dance Studio, we will teach you how to do what is called the “Cuban Motion” where you isolate your hips and lower body from the upper body, and this gives the important characteristics and looks of authentic merengue dancing with Latin styling. We will also use our Amazing Dance Studio rule-based learning procedure to make you learn Merengue dancing fast, easily and while having fun.
CUMBIA DANCE is very commonly danced in the Houston area and in many European and Latin countries. Once you have learned and mastered Salsa Dance and Bachata Dance, then learning to dance Cumbia Dance will become delightfully easy and fast. All the dance rules that you learned on Salsa dancing are applicable in Cumbia dancing. The basic rules remain the same and just the footwork and rhythm are different. Many moves that we teach you in Salsa dance and Bachata dance can also be transferred into Cumbia dance. Cumbia Dance is very popular amongst the Mexican community in Houston. It is an excellent dance to know for wedding parties, vacation cruises and many annual special events and parties.
TEJANO DANCE is very popular in Houston and Texas area in general. Tejano music is in some ways like Mexican Nortena music with one or more accordions in the band and it stands out as very melodious and produces music excellent for dancing. Tejano Dance is considered to be part of the “TexMex culture” as it has roots that are based on combination of Texas music and dance culture and Mexico music and dance culture. Again, we will help you learn to dance Tejano dance quickly and easily using our amazing rules of dance that we invented. Many of the moves from Salsa and Bachata dances can be carried over into Tejano, so if you learned Salsa and Bachata with us then learning Tejano dabce will become amazingly fast, simple and you will enjoy dancing Tejano at many of the clubs in the local Houston and Texas state in general.
